A water process technician performs reactive and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations, supporting other disciplines as necessary. This apprenticeship will prepare you for the main roles within this occupation, which cover working on water supply and treatment, water networks and leakage, sewerage and waste water. The roles you can undertake as part of this apprenticeship are water treatment process technician, water distribution network technician, water distribution leakage technician, waste water sewerage network technician and waste water treatment technician. As a water distribution network technician, for example, you’ll analyse and assess network performance measures, and investigate and identify resolutions to network performance issues.

Duration: 48 months

Relevant school subjects: Science

Entry requirements: Three to five GCSEs, including maths and English, or equivalent qualifications

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £22,000 per annum
