This apprenticeship is designed to train a teacher of pupils from aged 3 to 19 years. As a teacher, you may be employed in a variety of settings, such as academy schools and maintained schools, and across England. You’ll make the education of your pupils your first concern and will be accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. You’ll demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct. You’ll also develop strong subject knowledge while striving to keep your knowledge and skills as a teacher up-to-date. You’ll learn to forge positive professional relationships and work with parents/guardians in the best interests of their pupils. Achievement of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), which is awarded by the Department for Education, will be a mandatory requirement for your’ successful completion of this apprenticeship.

Duration: 12 months

Relevant school subjects: English and maths

Entry requirements: Three GCSEs; a first bachelor’s degree; assessed as suitable to teach by accredited initial teacher training providers; and passes in national professional numeracy and literacy skills tests. Disclosure and Barring Service check

Achievement upon completion: Level 6 (Higher)—equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

Potential salary upon completion: £22,000 per annum
