Northumbria University: Rebecca Watt

Rebecca Watt is studying a chartered surveyor degree apprenticeship at Northumbria University in Newcastle, while working as an apprentice quantity surveyor at Turner and Townsend

Rebecca said: “The benefit of doing an apprenticeship is that you get real life experience that you probably wouldn’t get on a full-time degree. I am able to develop skills and academic knowledge with Northumbria University and then apply this practically throughout my work at Turner and Townsend. I’m very lucky that my workplace is flexible, so I’m able to juggle both my university studies and my day-to-day work at Turner and Townsend quite easily.”

“An area I really like about my apprenticeship is the opportunity to network with other young professionals in the industry, some of which are also completing their own degree apprenticeship.”

Northumbria University’s extensive undergraduate and postgraduate apprenticeship portfolio provides opportunities for employees to upskill and gain new or further qualifications in a variety of programmes.
