Aldi: Joseph Dell

Aldi: Joseph Dell

Joseph Dell believes choosing an apprenticeship with Aldi was the key to kick-starting his career with the UK’s fifth largest supermarket.

After completing his A-levels, Joseph left further education with a keen interest in business and the ambition to be part of a fast-paced and rapidly expanding industry. Joseph wasn’t tempted by the prospect of studying at university, so he started to look into alternatives.

After impressing his store manager throughout his apprenticeship, Joseph was promoted to become an assistant store manager. With invaluable experience now under his belt, Joseph offers some useful advice for anyone looking to apply for the Aldi store apprenticeship programme: “Be honest about what you’re capable of and how much you can take on, as this will ensure you and your interviewer are on the same page and that they can support you throughout your application process.”

“Secondly, I’d recommend including any extra-curricular activities in your application, from playing football, being part of a band, or learning to speak another language. It shows you are committed, able to multi-task and to work as a part of a team.”

“Finally, I’d say take notice of the small details, work hard, and remember the name of everyone you meet. It really goes a long way when making a lasting impression.”
