Hands-on training suited my skillset

Inspired by the London skyline, Thomas Stevens chose to become a surveyor and is working towards a Property Surveying apprenticeship with CBRE. Once qualified, he will receive a qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

“Growing up in London, I was always mesmerised by the forever-evolving skyline and beautiful architecture around me, and I knew I had to work in property,” says Thomas.

“I decided to apply for an apprenticeship so I could start my career at the age of 16 and become a Chartered Surveyor by the age of 21 – with six years of experience under my belt. I’ve always been more of a practical learner as well, so I knew this hands-on route would suit my skillset.

“I was over the moon when I was chosen to be an apprentice. My apprenticeship has opened doors to opportunities that an academic route may not have. My knowledge is always growing and I contribute to important projects on a daily basis.”
