Property maintenance operative

Ensure that buildings are in a safe working condition
The primary role of a property maintenance operative is to optimise property condition and quality, and to ensure the building is kept in a safe working condition. You’ll be given the tools you’ll need to maintain a high level of quality, providing maximum satisfaction to customers, clients, guests and team members. You’ll develop an understanding of the mechanism of buildings, including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment. On completion of the apprenticeship, you’ll be able to carry out rapid fault finding, while maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness, and ensuring prevention of major damage that could result in extensive costs. You’ll be recognised by the British Institute of Facilities Management, which will provide associate membership to you while you are studying.
