“A leisure duty manager oversees the day-to-day operation of a leisure facility”

The leisure duty manager is in charge of the effective day-to-day ‘front line’ operation of a leisure facility, such as a swimming pool, multi-functional sports hall, fitness suite, crèche, children’s soft play, health suite, climbing wall or outdoor sports track. It will be your responsibility to ensure the facility is prepared for use in accordance with the planned activity programme and all areas are maintained to the highest possible standards of safety, cleanliness, security and operational effectiveness. You’ll provide leadership to a diverse range of staff such as lifeguards, receptionists, sports coaches, fitness teams and crèche workers, and manage staff performance and ongoing development.

Duration: 18 months

Relevant school subjects: PE

Entry requirements: Relevant, active experience in the leisure sector

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £22,000 per annum
