Do something you feel excited about

Ffion Evans is currently working as a trainee and hopes to become a fully qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountant by 21 years old

While she was at sixth form, Ffion heard about an opportunity to complete a Higher Apprenticeship with ICAEW. With her tutor’s encouragement, she grabbed it and hasn’t looked back since.

Now a trainee accountant at Harold D. Pritchard & Co., Ffion finds gaining valuable knowledge and working with people who inspire her to do her best is just a small part of what life as a higher apprentice is all about.

Having found a healthy balance between work, study and social life, Ffion fully enjoys being a higher apprentice and all that entails – from helping others at work, to gaining practical work experience and new skills, all while earning a full-time salary! Ffion is well on her way to becoming a fully qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountant at just 21 years old.

To anyone uncertain about what their options are after school, Ffion says: “University isn’t always right for everyone. Consider every option and every opportunity; don’t write something off straight away. Do something you feel excited about!”
