Chartered Manager – DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
Job roles: Manager, Senior manager, Head of department, Operations manager
Chartered Manager is the highest professional accreditation in the field of management and leadership, recognised across all industries and sectors. Awarded only by the Chartered Management Institute, Chartered Manager status demonstrates to employers that you have the range of professional management skills.
A Chartered Manager is someone who can take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long-term organisational success for an organisation. Being ‘chartered’ is a professional recognition of your ability as a manager, and shows you are able to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate your commitment to continual learning and development.
Professional managers work in all types and sizes of organisation within the private, public and third sectors. They are capable of managing complexity and delivering impact at a strategic and/or operational level, while also taking management and leadership responsibility for setting and delivering organisational objectives through a wide range of functions.
If you train to become a Chartered Manager via an apprenticeship programme you will develop a full range of management and leadership skills, knowledge, self-awareness and behaviours. These include strategic decision-making, setting direction and achieving results, building and leading teams, communicating clearly, developing skills and motivating others, fostering inclusive and ethical cultures, leading change, project management, financial management, innovation, risk management, and developing stakeholder relationships.
This apprenticeship will typically take four years to complete, but this will depend on the previous experience of the apprentice.
Successful apprentices will achieve a degree in management and business – either BA (Hons), BSc (Hons) or BBA (Hons) – and full chartered membership of the Chartered Management Institute.
