Fenestration fabricator

Fenestration fabricator

Manufacture finished fenestration products such as conservatory roofing

Fenestration refers to the design, construction, or presence of openings in a building and can include windows, doors, vents, wall panels, skylights, storefronts, curtain walls, and slope glazed systems. You could be working to supply directly to people’s homes, or to house builders, or to the commercial and public sector, such as local authorities, offices, shops, schools and hospitals. As an apprentice fenestration fabricator you would specialise in a particular material, such as aluminium, timber, steel or UPVC. As well as cutting and assembling the products, you may need to add glass units, fixings and fastening, handles, hinges and locks, along with weatherproofing for example, gaskets, seals, membranes and sealants. You will need to work to specification and to a set deadline, and will be responsible for completing your own work with minimal supervision.
