Energy assessor and advisor apprenticeship

Energy assessor and advisor apprenticeship

The Energy assessor and advisor apprenticeship is for new entrants to the energy sector and existing staff moving to a new role.

A domestic energy advisor analyses the energy efficiency of residential buildings to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and makes suggestions for improvements so the homeowner can improve the energy efficiency of their property, sell or rent their property. They will also advise customers on the new Green Deal initiative, set up by the Government, which helps to finance the installation of energy improvements.

As an energy advisor, typical duties will include: conducting inspections – collecting information about a property including its age, building type, room measurement and type of heating; data entry – input of all of the information gained into computer software for analysis to produce an EPC; and reporting back to the customer, providing advice to ensure improvement of the energy efficiency rating.

On this apprenticeship, you’ll learn all aspects of conducting energy assessments in a safe, effective and professional manner.
