An employability practitioner works with individuals to address and overcome obstacles to securing suitable and sustainable employment. These individuals may have mental health conditions, disabilities or face social barriers. You’ll be responsible for supporting a caseload of the hardest-to-help individuals. You’ll gather data and information through research to make recommendations and inform service delivery. You’ll liaise with employers, advocating on an individual’s behalf, to find the right opportunity, based on their wants, needs and aspirational employment and career goals. You’ll be responsible for developing relationships with external stakeholders and to identify business development opportunities for the benefit of the local community and generating referrals. You’ll may be based in an office where the individual travels to meet you, or you may be field-based and meet with individuals out in the community.

Duration: 24 months

Relevant school subjects: English and maths

Entry requirements: Depend on employer

Achievement upon completion: Level 4 (Higher)—equivalent to a foundation degree

Potential salary upon completion: £21,000 per annum
