Emergency care assistance apprenticeship

The Emergency care assistance apprenticeship aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to become a competent emergency care assistant within the emergency care workforce.

The role involves responding to emergency calls to provide care to patients, driving ambulance vehicles, assisting paramedics, using medical/life support equipment, providing and collecting information at the scene, and completing documentation.

Designed as a work-based programme this Intermediate Level apprenticeship includes qualifications at Level 2. The duration for completion of the apprenticeship is 12 months depending on age, prior experience and learning.
