Shaping the future in a major business

Caleb Lewis, 19, loves the variety that comes with life as an HR apprentice at Direct Line Group.

“I’ve gained so much by working in different teams within HR,” he explains. “From recruitment to payroll, and learning and development. The experience has been really valuable.”

As well as enjoying a range of different day-to-day responsibilities, Caleb has really taken to the more studious side of apprentice life.

“I’ve been completing both my Business Admin NVQ Level 3 and my CIPD Level 3, which has involved exams, coursework and projects. It’s great to gain relevant qualifications.

“I love that I am earning a living at the same time as getting all this experience and knowledge,” he adds.

Caleb was excited to join Direct Line Group because he had heard of several of their brands in TV and radio adverts, including Direct Line, Churchill and Green Flag.

“When I looked more closely at the company, I was also attracted by their values and ethics. A big selling point for me has been the benefits and future career opportunities.”
Summing up, Caleb is clear on why you should consider DLG too: “I strongly recommend doing the apprenticeship scheme as it has endless benefits. If you give it your best shot, it will shape your future.”
