This advanced apprenticeship offers a route into major sectors within creative and digital media, including television, archives, animation, interactive media, film, photo imaging and radio. It’s also relevant if you’re interested in using digital technology for creative purposes. You’ll need an understanding and appreciation of different technologies, as well as being digitally savvy and in possession of soft skills such as collaboration. Integral to the apprenticeship are hard work, the right attitude, strong communication and ICT skills, and an understanding of what it takes to work your way up in creative and digital media, where freelancing is common. Above all, you’ll need a strong passion for the subject area and an ability and the willingness to network and confidently market personal skills and achievements.

Duration: 15 months

Relevant school subjects: English and ICT

Entry requirements: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels

Potential salary upon completion: £18,000 per annum
