Clinical healthcare support apprenticeship

The Clinical healthcare support apprenticeship can be undertaken at Intermediate and Advanced levels and aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to become competent in supporting health professionals – such as doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and healthcare scientists – to provide clinical healthcare.

As an apprentice, you could work in various clinical healthcare support roles (for example as a clinical healthcare support worker or healthcare assistant) alongside health professionals to provide patient care in a range of settings.

Designed as a work-based programme this apprenticeship includes qualifications at Levels 2 and 3. The duration for completion of an Intermediate Level apprenticeship is 12 months and of an Advanced Level apprenticeship is 18 months and will depend on age and prior experience and learning.
