The business administrator is required across sectors and small and large organisations alike. You’ll work independently or as part of a team to develop, implement, maintain and improve administrative services. With a focus on adding value, your role will contribute to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required will allow you to develop a wide range of skills. You’ll be expected to deliver your responsibilities efficiently and with integrity. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. You’ll also be expected to show initiative, the ability to manage priorities and your own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.

Duration: 18 months

Relevant school subjects: Business studies and ICT

Entry requirements: Depend on employer, but likely GCSEs or equivalent qualifications. Alternatively, relevant experience would be advantageous, particularly if teamwork is exhibited

Achievement upon completion: Level 3 (Advanced)—equivalent to A-levels at grades A to E

Potential salary upon completion: £18,000 per annum
